Wooden pallets are the ‘golden child‘ of the recycling world.
Over 95% of wooden pallets are reused or recycled each year and this Canadian industry boasts an annual growth rate of over 18% making the wood pallet the shining star of Canada’s 3Rs success stories.
When wooden pallets enter the recycling chain, 30% require fixing, refurbishing and modern equipment can often accomplish this in under 2 minutes for each one!
The remaining 5% of wooden pallets that are unable to be fixed get made into wood-chips used in particle board, paper and most recently, livestock bedding.
Its great to know that the next time you buy recycled paper products or even tuck your horse into a stall at night, the wooden pallet was probably behind it all.
